The Democrats last night reaffirmed their decision to disqualify disgraced legislator Chim Pui-chung. However, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong (DAB) is still split. After a party caucus meeting, the Democrats said they had to abide by the law and relieve Chim of his duties on Wednesday. 'Legco cannot wait forever as the appeal may go to the Court of Final Appeal,' party legislator Cheung Man-kwong said. But the DAB deferred a decision to Wednesday. 'Our main concern is that Legco would be embarrassed if Chim wins his appeal,' said DAB party caucus secretary Ip Kwok-him.
