A second customer agreed to drop his lawsuit against KPS over prepaid coupons yesterday after accepting an offer from the video giant. Lam Fat-yuen, 40, reached an out-of-court settlement with KPS Retail Stores and withdrew his claim filed in the Small Claims Tribunal. He originally sued the club for a refund of $1,110 for 111 outstanding coupons. Outside the tribunal, Mr Lam said KPS had extended the time limit of his expired coupons until December 31 next year and offered him one year's free membership. 'I am not satisfied with KPS' offer, but I just don't want to waste my time and effort any more. It is better than nothing.' Mr Lam, an Architectural Services Department officer, said it had been unfair and unreasonable for KPS to ditch its prepaid video vouchers on July 31 without consulting customers. On August 20, another disgruntled customer reached a settlement. Another 12 customers have filed writs.
