Sammi Cheng Sau-man has that top- of-the-world feeling these days.
Her latest Cantonese album was a massive hit, having stormed to the top of the Hong Kong pop charts and stayed there for two weeks.
Feel So Good came after a gap of eight months, and the Canto-pop megastar's fans were expecting something special. They were not disappointed.
Record sales have exceeded 100,000 and to celebrate this outstanding achievement, Cheng received a 'double platinum award' from her record company.
'I am very pleased to be given this honour,' she said. 'I will continue to do my best in the future to reward my fans' long-term support and encouragement.' Although Cheng started her singing career about 10 years ago, Feel So Good contains the first lyrics ever written by her. In the song Feels Like 1998 , she expresses her opinion on important events that happened during the year, such as the opening of the new airport and the economic crisis, 'from the bottom of her heart'.
Cheng also tries her hand at painting in the new album. She drew the cover of its video CD with My Happy World as the theme.
'I thought no one could realise what the picture was about. If you are clever enough, you can find my family members, my friends and my toys there. Their faces are represented by different shapes,' she said.
