I would like to complain about the abuse of foam boxes in McDonald's restaurants.

The restaurant asserts it is environmentally friendly and that the paper and the plastics it uses are recycled.

However, despite its claims its actions seem contradictory to me.

The fact is the company produces a lot of non-biodegradable waste which pollutes the environment.

Every day it hands out enormous numbers of foam boxes during its breakfast hours alone.

Foam boxes are non-biodegradable and take several hundred years to decompose.

Chlorofluorocarbons are produced in the manufacture of many foam boxes and this by-product is known to destroy the ozone layer.
