SIXTY schoolchildren will join a group of local pop singers in a performance tomorrow to promote concern towards the new generation. ''Loveable Concert',' jointly organised by Radio Television Hongkong (RTHK) and the Housing Authority, will be held at Tin Yiu Estate in Tin Shui Wai. The objectives are to promote concern towards the growth of children and also provide a fun-filled day for them during the Easter holidays. RTHK programme officer Patricia Ho Kam-wah said: ''Children nowadays spend a lot of time playing TV games and computers at home but seldom take part in group activities.'' The concert would thus help bring them together and also give them a chance to enjoy and relax away from their books, she said. ''It is an entertaining and educational event as singers will perform not only their own songs but also a number of children's songs and tell some interesting stories as well,'' said Ms Ho. During the concert, the children will sing with the pop stars and perform a number of dances before the audience. Performers will include Alex To, Dicky Cheung, Irene Wan and Cheng Yin-kin. Also taking part will be disc jockeys of the two RTHK radio programmes - New Generation and Morning Suit. To show concern towards the community and entertain the public, RTHK will put up a series of performances in 12 public housing estates over the next few months.
