The Cityplaza skating rink in Tai Koo Shing may have been 'put on ice' for two months. But when it re-opens in November, enthusiasts can look forward to an innovative complex which has embraced modern technology in a big way. The management at City Plaza Ice Palace believes the new decorations, including radio-controlled shades for reflecting sunlight and a multi- million-dollar computer system with customer information terminals, will make ice-skating an enjoyable experience. While the size of the rink will remain unchanged, almost every aspect of the venue will be improved, with new restrooms, a skate shop, and a skating school reservation area. In addition, brand new sound and video systems, along with a D J booth, will be installed.
