The newly re-opened Pokfulam playground should have access from several directions, but now only entrances in the centre can be used.

The entrance nearest to the set of zebra crossings along Pokfulam Road is locked. When I called the Urban Council to find out why, the reply was: for public safety. The official said that vehicles need to go in and out of the gate to deliver plants to the nursery there. I have a query as to the logic of this answer. Why can't they do this at another entrance, like the ones along old Pokfulam Road? It is most unsafe for pedestrians, especially children, to have to pass by that locked gate when they are heading for the main entrance with the fear that some vehicles may come out of the locked gate at any time. On September 2, we found out that the entrance near the basketball courts was padlocked too. I wonder why the people in charge like locking gates to the park? After all, the playground is meant to be built for people to enjoy.
