International phone consortium Global One says it will offer the option of pricing and billing in the new European currency, the euro. The joint venture of Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and Sprint said it was the first of global carriers to announce the plan. The option will be available from January 1 next year, when the currency is introduced. The company said euro billing would allow customers to simplify a common financial problem facing companies - currency handling. 'The euro represents a stable currency, reducing the financial risk companies face on both the cost and revenue sides of their business.' In the three-year transition until full euro use, the company said it would accept transactions in all national currencies.
