Hong Kong head coach Sebastiao Araujo has dropped the five players who were allegedly involved in June's match-fixing scandal from the Asian Games squad. Regular Hong Kong goalkeeper Kevin Lok Kar-win, defenders Chan Chi-keung and Lee Wai-man, midfielder Lau Chi-yuen and forward Wai Kwan-lung were not on the 18-man list which was released by the Hong Kong Football Association yesterday. Araujo said the five players might be called up again if they were no longer under investigation by the Independent Commission Against Corruption. 'I have been told these players are still being investigated, therefore I did not pick them,' said Araujo. 'But once they are found innocent, they may be called up. The door is still open until the participating list is submitted to the Asian Games organising committee in November.' Hong Kong are pitted with Thailand and Oman in Group F of the Asian Games in Bangkok. Other surprising omissions were South China right-winger Lee Kin-wo and Instant-Dict goalkeeper Chung Ho-yin. Yee Hope's Hong Kong-born midfielder Davey Williamson was selected for the first time and so were his teammate, 'keeper Chan Ka-ki, Rangers forward Cheung Yiu-lun and midfielder Chu Siu-kei, and Happy Valley left-back Poon Yiu-cheuk. The squad will start training on Mondays and Tuesdays from the first week of October at the Sports Institute. 'We will train on Monday afternoon and sleep at the Sports Institute and train in the morning of the following day,' said Araujo. 'When the league stops at the end of October, we will train every day and stay together at the SI. 'Most of the selected players have trained under me before. We have not got enough time to let new players get used to my coaching.'
