Having read Roger Maynard's article 'Accent on xenophobia in the court of Queen Pauline' (Sunday Morning Post, September 6), I was amazed to realise Asians are not alone in being targeted for racial discrimination by One Nation led by Pauline Hanson. The article gives the world more of an idea how One Nation runs. It seems to me that as long as you are not Australian, never mind whether you are white-skinned, Ms Hanson's party is not interested.
Having again watched the 60 Minutes programme on the same night, it was absolutely laughable to see Ms Hanson's supporters questioning Liberal and Labor Party representatives but not allowing them to answer. One Nation supporters repeatedly interrupted, showing they cannot hold a civilised debate.
Ms Hanson would gain respect from me if she proposed a ban on immigrants from Asia; stopped Asians working and living in Australia and in turn stopped Australians working and living in Asia; an import ban on importing products from Asia; halted Australian exports to Asia; stopped approving investment from Asians in her country; stopped exchanging Asian currencies; banned tourism from Asia and stopped Asians buying property in Australia.
I am sure that Asia can still survive even if she does all this.
Can't we Asians put our money in New Zealand instead? New Zealand too is a beautiful country and also supplies a high quality of meat, wine and dairy products.
