A luxury-living exhibition next month has been cancelled because of the economic downturn. Adult Leisure Expo '98 at the Hong Kong International Trade and Exhibition Centre was to target middle-income groups and aimed to promote leisure goods such as cigars, red wine and cars. About 30 exhibitors planned to display their goods at the expo, which was being organised by the Millennium Promotion Company. Andy Chan, chief operating officer, said: 'We cancelled the expo because we understood that the exhibitors could not achieve their expected returns from the exhibition. 'Also, we believed fewer people would come to the exhibition because of the economic situation.'
