Cheung Miu-king was in intensive care for two weeks after being admitted to Yan Chai Hospital in a coma, a writ lodged in the High Court yesterday says.

The writ says that on June 14 last year, public light bus driver Patrick Lau Ka-lung ignored a red light and hit Ms Cheung as she used a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Castle Peak Road and Tsuen King Circuit, Tsuen Wan.

Ms Cheung spent six months in hospital and underwent several operations.

The writ says that she was confined to a wheelchair when discharged and had 'gradually recovered to a state in which she could talk in a simple sentence'.

Ms Cheung had lost 100 per cent of her earning capacity and was 'incapable of making sensible decisions'.
