Seventy-four workers will be laid off by China Light & Power by the end of the year when building and demolition projects finish. The power company, with a workforce of 4,100, said yesterday it had found alternative jobs within the firm for 61 staff. 'The departure of project staff is a natural outcome for all construction and infrastructure projects,' a company spokesman said. The staff were working on projects including building the Black Point Power Station, north of Tuen Mun, and demolishing the Tsing Yi power station.
