Soccer star a sushi fan

Carlos Dunga tells me that he has become a great fan of sushi and other Japanese food, having lived in Japan for the past three years.

Carlos captained the Brazilian national team during the World Cup and has since retired from international soccer.

Having played with Jubilo Iwata for the past three seasons, Carlos says the difference between playing with his fellow Brazilians and the Japanese is that the Brazilians are more experienced players and the Japanese are just beginning to discover the fascination of soccer.

'We Brazilians are born with a ball attached to our feet,' he says. 'I began playing football before I learnt how to walk.' Carlos, who led Brazil to victory in the World Cup in 1994, has so far won three titles with Jubilo Iwata. But soccer is not the only thing in Carlos' life. He likes travelling all over Japan, experiencing various cultures and customs. 'And while I'm in Hong Kong, I plan to eat a lot of Chinese food, which I love,' he says.
