Stogie-fancying Brian Kan Ping-chee (above) looks assured of a future celebratory puff after the appropriately named Cigar King (42-1) caught the eye in last night's Class Four, 1,400-metre third event won by Fortune Tycoon.

The impeccably bred Private Purchase Griffin was fourth from last approaching the home bend before stable jockey David Harrison gave him his head. And Cigar King gave plenty as he rattled through the pack in athletic fashion to finish seventh, just over four lengths off the leading brigade.

It was a performance that had 'follow me over further' stamped all over it and this son of Polish Patriot is almost certain to jump at a shade of odds.

Earlier, there was a tidy effort from Wong Tang-ping's Last Tycoon gelding, K-Tack (99-1), who carries the famous colours of one-time champion Co-Tack.

He may not be in the same league as his illustrious predecessor, but the manner in which K-Tack finished off this Class Five 1,200-metre sprint under claimer Alex K.S. Yu suggests he too will win his fair share of prize money.
