Kodak offers digital service
Kodak Hong Kong has joined Kodak Express and Fotomax to provide digital photo output services at 130 outlets in the SAR.
Images taken by digital cameras can be turned into high-quality photos in minutes at any Fotomax and Kodak Express outlet.
The prints are produced using a Kodak Picture Maker, which accepts digital files stored in standard JPEG or Tiff format on floppy disks, PCMCIA cards, compact flash cards or photo CDs.
From existing photos, the machine also can make identification pictures, enlargements and reprints with the option of re-touching.
The service was set up to address the growing number of digital camera owners who want to produce high-quality photos at affordable prices, David Swift, president of Kodak Greater China, said.
'In the foreseeable future, film will remain the convenient, affordable bridge to digital imaging applications,' he said.
'Through digitisation, digital images are created from traditional film through scanning technology.' According to Kodak, a maker of digital cameras, the worldwide market for such equipment was growing about 60 per cent a year.
