THE Bank of East Asia officially opened its new wholly owned subsidiary in Canada, Bank of East Asia (Canada), in suburban Toronto yesterday. Mr David Li Kwok-po, director and chief executive, said the move emphasised the bank's dedication to serving the global network of international entrepreneurs with a network of overseas branches. Bank of East Asia (Canada), which will offer customers a wide range of banking services, is confident it can carve a niche in Richmond Hill. Richmond Hill is located just north of Toronto and has a growing Chinese community. Arrangements can be made at any of the bank's branches in Hongkong to open deposit accounts with Bank of East Asia (Canada).
