THE Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) will hold its general meeting between May 30 and June 3 at the Westin hotel in Singapore.
The meeting, which will be chaired by BIMCO's president Sir Ian Denholm, will include BIMCO / Sohmen lectures and discussions on safety in a regulated environment.
Guest speakers will include Mr William A. O'Neil, secretary-general of the International Maritime Organisation from the UK, Mr Ole Skaarup, president of Skaarup Shipping Corp from the United States, Mr Tor-Chr Mathiesen, president of Det Norske Veritas Classification from Norway and Mr Basil Papchristidis, chairman of the Hellenic Marine Environmental Protection Association from Greece.
BIMCO will hold seminars on ''Modern Communications for the Maritime Industry''.
There will also be plenary meetings and workshops, and user / provider dialogues before the BIMCO general meeting to be held on June 2.
