Outspoken radio chat show host Albert Cheng King-hon returned to the airwaves yesterday for the first time since being chopped by knifemen and pledged to continue with his controversial style.
The broadcaster, 52, known as Taipan, also lost no time in attacking Tung Chee-hwa's second Policy Address.
Cheng, chopped by two assailants as he arrived for work at Commercial Radio on August 19, said the attack was definitely related to his commentaries but insisted he would not bow to violence.
He arrived at the radio station at 8.20am under tight security for a two-hour session of his show Teacup in a Storm with longtime friend and co-host Peter Lam Yuk-wah.
Hitting the airwaves at 9.07am, he said it was a shame Mr Tung had not mentioned the importance of freedom of expression in his address.
'Upholding it costs much. It may cost a human life . . . but we should, by no means, bow to violence,' he said.
