Video firm owner in bribe case

A VIDEO company owner yesterday appeared before South Kowloon Court charged with offering $112,000 in bribes in return for video production projects for Beyond and Jacky Cheung concerts and for STAR TV.

Kwong Chun-wah, 38, proprietor of Videomovie and Advertising Production Service, is alleged to have offered an advantage of $90,000 on October 17, 1991, to the general manager of Big Honor Investment Ltd, Mr Tom Chiu Wai-kwong, alias Mr Chiu Wai-lam. In return, Kwong expected the video production projects for Beyond and Jacky Cheung concerts to go to his company.

Kwong is also charged with offering $22,000 to Mr Chiu on October 25, 1991, in return for projects for STAR TV's Chinese Channel. He pleaded not guilty.
