It is indeed heartening to note the Government in Hong Kong is passing laws intended to make the child sex trade a criminal offence.

The child sex trade is not an uncommon phenomenon. It is something being witnessed on a global scale - more so in the case of the Third World and the developing countries.

Children are being forced into the flesh trade for a wide variety of reasons.

Hundreds of thousands of tender minds are being forced to bear the atrocities of their fellow human beings or serving as convenient receptors for perversity cultivated in the deepest recesses of their dark minds. And these brutal memories during the early years leave an indelible mark on their psyches.

In countries like India so many children are forced into prostitution year after year - the main reasons being poverty, illiteracy and, in many cases, religious beliefs.

Many other children are forced into child labour at very young ages. These children are made to work in glass factories and factories manufacturing firecrackers, exposing them to elements that prove extremely dangerous to their health, before they even reach adolescence.
