Santer, Brittan on trade visit

European Commission president Jacques Santer and vice-president Sir Leon Brittan arrive in the mainland later this month to further a 'political dialogue' between Europe and Beijing over trade and human rights. The two European Union executive leaders arrive in Beijing on October 29 for talks with leaders before visiting Shanghai and heading to Hong Kong on November 2, the commission representative in Hong Kong Etienne Reuter said yesterday.
