Movie star Jackie Chan rushed to the rescue when two young lovers were injured in a motorcycle crash, a court heard yesterday.

The action hero discovered the couple lying on the tarmac as he was driving over a Chatham Road flyover on the night of August 16, 1993.
He helped Form Five student Cheng Yeuk-hang, 17, and her boyfriend Lam Ping-fung, 20, into his car and took them to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Lam's injuries were not serious, but Cheng died eight days later.
Cheng's parents went before the Court of First Instance yesterday seeking about $1 million compensation for their daughter's death.

Cheng had been a school prefect and had a promising future, the court heard.
