SINCE the magnanimity of Keeping Posted readers knows no bounds, we are making a pitch on behalf of Gary Mais, a 20-year-old Aussie aiming to join the ranks of professional golf. Gary, a scratch handicap amateur with Clearwater Bay Golf Club, has been living in Hongkong with his parents for the past two years while pursuing his sporting ambition. ''My long-term goal is to become a pro,'' he says. ''But before making that move I need to play in more tournaments at a higher standard to gain relevant experience.'' As a regular member of the Hongkong national team, Gary has represented the territory in Brunei, Malaysia and Australia. Between now and August this year he plans to play as an amateur on the professional tour of Malaysia and needs sponsorship to assist with his accommodation and travel. And he's open for offers to represent any company. Can someone out there help Gary, please. We'll be happy to pass on any offers.
