Mickey joins in special day special day

Disney

ABOUT 50 children of the Po Leung Kuk recently spent an enjoyable time with Disney character Mickey Mouse and were presented with tickets to a grand show.

Kodak (Far East), one of the sponsors of Walt Disney's World on Ice Show ''Celebrating Mickey Mouse'' (see story below), took part in the celebration of Children's Day at the Po Leung Kuk in Causeway Bay.

The fun day kicked off with a welcome address by Mr Douglas Seator, general manager, Consumer and Professional Imaging of Kodak.

Mr Seator said Mickey Mouse had been able to bring joy to children all over the world.

''This is the first time we sponsor the Po Leung Kuk with free tickets for the show but is the second time we are sponsoring the big show,'' said Mr Seator.

After the speech, Mr Seator together with Mickey Mouse presented the 150 tickets to Mrs Yuen Lam Tsun-seung, the assistant superintendent of residential services at the Po Leung Kuk.

At the party, children aged between six and 10 were offered an opportunity to play games, including ''Passing the Balloons'' and ''Guessing the Leader'', with Mickey.

The children were obviously excited and happy to be able to play interesting games and shake hands and talk with their super idol.

The children also had their pictures taken with Mickey; they also received souvenirs, such as a back-pack, a Mickey Mouse picture frame and a box with some games and balloons.

Walt Disney's World on Ice Show, which started last Thursday, will run until April 27 at the Hongkong Coliseum in celebration of Mickey Mouse's 65th year in showbusiness.
