A BOY who was badly injured in a car accident has been left brain-damaged and suffers severe personality impairment, a writ says. Chan Chun-kit, now 14, walks with a limp and has low intelligence. He is teased by his classmates and no longer has any friends, the writ says. His father, Chan Lam, 39, is suing driver Wong Kim-hong for an unspecified amount in damages and costs. On March 4, 1995, Chun-kit, then 11, was knocked down while crossing Tam Kon Shan Road in Tsing Yi. It is claimed the accident was caused by Mr Wong's negligence because he was driving too fast and failed to keep a proper lookout. Chun-kit was in a coma for seven days and stayed in hospital until June 16 that year. The writ says reports showed Chun-kit would not be able to earn a living. His mother, 35, had quit her job as a cleaner to take care of him.
