Hong Kong's Wong Kam-po was crowned King of the Mountains after winning the coveted polka dot jersey as best mountain climber in the Commonwealth Bank Classic - Australia's most famous race.
Wong confirmed his status as Asia's top hill climber by winning the title from Germany's Jens Zemke and Polish rider Raimondas Rumsas in New South Wales.
Wong, who was representing the Sportscover World Team, finished ninth overall in the series, which ended on Sunday after 15 stages covering 1,033 kilometres.
Wong finished eight minutes and 26 seconds behind Classic winner Cezary Zamana of Poland, who won the series in 25 hours, 28 minutes and 43 seconds.
'Wong was described as one of the surprise packages of the Classic,' said a Hong Kong Cycling Association official.
'To get top prize in the mountain category against top riders is a great result for him and one which should augur well for the Asian Games.' The 25-year-old Hong Kong rider finished third in the toughest race of the series, a gruelling 104-km road race from Wollongong to Nowra.
