FOR the second time in the last 15 years I had the occasion to avail myself of the services of the outpatients/ casualty section of the Queen Mary Hospital on behalf of a family member. Again it proved to be of a high calibre. From the moment my daughter was picked up in the ambulance, to the time she left the orthopaedic ward six hours later, I felt she received every courtesy and attention from ambulance bearers, nursing sisters, a succession of very careful doctors and wardpersonnel . If this is the standard of care the average Hongkong citizen gets (ambulance, X-rays, several medical opinions, joint manipulation, one night's hospital bed, medication, plus return visit) for a nominal sum, then we have little to complain about.
