A DISGRACED music teacher who molested a student after demonstrating a Mozart minuet reluctantly went to jail amid emotional scenes in court yesterday.
The 60-year-old violin instructor's sobbing wife sank to her knees in front of the dock, shouting protests that her husband had been framed by the 15-year-old girl.
He looked confused as he was escorted to a cell while lawyers tried to console his wife.
Mr Justice Pang Kin-kee refused to quash the teacher's conviction for indecent assault or to spare him jail.
He ordered the teacher, who had been on bail pending the appeal, to begin serving a three-month prison term imposed by a magistrate in September.
'As the girl's violin teacher, he was in a position of trust and what he did was in total disregard of the standards of decency,' the judge said.
