Marco Fu Kar-chun, one of Hong Kong's top Asian Games gold medal hopes, will go all-out to grab the psychological high ground over rival James Wattana Pu Ob-orm of Thailand next week in England.

With less than a month to go before an expected showdown in Bangkok for the singles gold, Fu hopes he can send a 'better watch out' message to Wattana.

Fu left last night for England to play in his second world ranking professional tournament with one eye cast in the direction of the Thai.

The two players, who are leading candidates for the Bangkok Games gold medal, are tipped to meet each other in the second round of the GBP460,000 UK Championships in Bournemouth.

And Fu is hell-bent on grabbing the psychological advantage over the Thai, Asia's number one player.

'We will meet if we both win our first-round matches. It will be great if I can beat him. I will get an early look at him and the experience will be good,' said a confident Fu yesterday.
