A competition involving inflatable dinghies was the highlight of a swimming competition organised by a secondary school. At the 20th annual swimming gala of CCC Mong Man Wai College, there was a buzz of excitement as teachers entered the pool in their rubber boats. The school's English language teaching assistants, Bethany Stroh-Gingrich from Canada and Steven Allan from England, paddled their way to glory amid loud cheers. The day began with a parade by representatives from the four houses, followed by the raising of the school flag and the opening ceremony officiated by principal Ip Shun-tak. Chan Chun-ming, 6A, was the boys' senior champion, while the junior title went to Form Two student Lee Wai-hung. Fifth-former Cheung Miu-yee and Form Three student Ho Kin-yee shared the girls' individual championship. In addition to bagging the boys' junior title, Parker House was declared the overall champion, while Chia Kam Kong House took the top prize in the boys' senior category. Parker also claimed the girls' senior championship, with Legge taking home the junior title. Chan Lin-chee, athletic affairs manager of the Sports Development Board and a former Hong Kong badminton player, was the guest-of-honour.
