Perry has got involved with a woman old enough to have a 10-year-old son, and he spends most of this episode trying to keep up with the kid intellectually.
Perry wants to roughhouse and bond over manly things like sport, the boy Aaron needs someone to talk about theatre with.
It doesn't take much to be more mature than Perry, and Aaron certainly handles their differences rather better than Perry does.
