Kind and dedicated

I read with surprise the recent allegations made in the press about Betty Tung.

I find it difficult to reconcile these with the warm, down-to-earth, dedicated community worker whom I have known for 20 years through an association with the Hong Kong Red Cross.

Mrs Tung has always been greatly respected for her genuine commitment and concern for others, as evidenced by her long record of voluntary service with the Red Cross.

She is also much admired and appreciated not only for her willingness to roll up her sleeves and get the job done, but for the very many kindnesses she has quietly extended to co-workers and friends over the years.
