Red chip Legend Holdings became the third-biggest seller of personal computers in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Japan, in the third quarter, according to a market research firm.

Legend continued to be top seller in the mainland with a 15.2 per cent market share by unit shipment, up from 12.2 per cent in the first half.

Chairman Liu Chuanzhi said corporate strategies of providing specialised but user-friendly functions and integrated hardware and software designs led to the improvement.

With the launch of a series of new products this month, the company was confident it could sell 780,000 units in the financial year to March.
