Polo gets flexible look from Lauren
THIS summer sees Ralph Lauren putting the emphasis on flexibility in his Polo menswear collection.
From hi-tech functional sportswear for wilderness adventure, to plaid suit jackets paired with cream flannel pants, Lauren's approach is about choice and a mix of classic and modern elements.
Outdoor utility clothing is a blaze of colour, graphics and detail. Brights contrast with faded khaki and plaid. A touring pullover jacket has a fold-out hood, zippered cargo pockets, reflective tape and mesh liner for comfort and convenience. Worn with a pair of faded stretch cotton canvas All-Terrain shorts, one can be ready for the most challenging trials in hiking or biking.
Polo also offers tennis clothing for both participants and spectators. In white with bright accents, this group includes functional knit shirts and microfibre warm-up suits.
The Antique Tennis group befits a sophisticated spectator with traditional cabled sweaters, flannel trousers and jackets in cream, white and navy.
The Active Trainer collection offers tonal mixes of cream, grey heather, light barley and oatmeal. These easy, comfortable clothes have subtle logos and soft shapes. A hooded sweatshirt is in cotton and cashmere mix. Others are ribbed crew and turtle necks.
Polo's tailored clothing encompasses a variety of moods and takes a more relaxed approach to warm weather dressing. Textured linens in cream and black have a softly rumpled look. The new cream linen Kipling four-button double-breasted sports jacket and cream linen pants in a contrasting weave are worn with a cream band collar shirt.
