BARRISTER Stuart Mason-Parker, languishing in a Philippine jail over an alleged passport scam, wanted to introduce the death penalty in the fictitious nation of Melchizedek, it has been claimed.
The Hong Kong lawyer drew up a new constitution for the nation at the request of convicted conman John Gillespie, wanted by police for his role in the scandal, the self-styled founder of the 'ecclesiastical state' has revealed.
Tzemach Ben David Netzer Korem said: 'It's a brilliant document and he wanted to make me the king of Melchizedek.' His wife, Pearlasia, a Filipina also known as Elvira G. Gamboa who is the dominion's 'president', would have become queen.
But Mr Korem said he had rejected the draft constitution for the 'United States of Melchizedek'.
'I did not feel they were being called by God to do that,' he said.
Mr Korem said he believed Gillespie, an Australian who would have been elevated to president, was using the constitution to launch a 'friendly' coup attempt to take control of the dominion.
Mr Korem was uncomfortable with a plan by Mason-Parker, a former top Hong Kong prosecutor whom Mr Korem says wanted to become Melchizedek's justice minister, to introduce the death penalty.
