Queen Elizabeth may not have been too amused with Ennio Marchetto's portrayal of her at the Royal Variety Show in London this Sunday, so he has dropped her from his hilarious act. But you can still see his 'queen' act in his one-man show at the Academy for Performing Arts. Everyone from the Pope to Elvis is included in Ennio's witty and wickedly funny portrayals. 'I change into 45 different characters in one hour,' says Ennio, who makes all his wigs and costumes out of paper. 'It is a very physical performance.' Regarded as a living cartoon, he has performed worldwide for the past 10 years. In 1990 he took part in the Edinburgh Festival, where his show was an immediate success, and he has since achieved a high international profile. Do those being mimicked mind? 'I did Boy George once and he came along. He absolutely loved it. I make fun of these people but not in a bad way.' To book tickets call 2805 2804.
