I refer to the report concerning the crash between a police vehicle and a Korean Air 747 jet aircraft (Sunday Morning Post, November 29).

The report stated that there were passengers on board the aircraft at the time of the accident; this is not true. The accident happened in the early hours of the morning and the aircraft was completely empty.
The damage caused to the aircraft was minor - a 7.6 centimetre-long deep scratch on the engine housing. There was some minor damage caused to the rear light bridge on the top of the police van, but again it was small. The accident happened at very slow speed and there were no injuries to anyone.
