I refer to the letter from Dino Capelvenere ('Language switch unfair', South China Morning Post, December 3) requesting that Cable TV revert to English-language commentary on Channel 7 (ESPN).
I very much agree with Mr Capelvenere's views. I have been a subscriber to Cable TV for more than a year, and ESPN was the main reason for me for getting Cable.
Why did the people at Wharf Cable decide to change to Chinese commentary? Did they receive requests from subscribers to do so? I used to enjoy English commentary on Sportcentre and, in particular, ESPN's coverage of tennis, basketball, and baseball, but all that has now vanished.
What's next? Switching the language of the BBC and CNN from English to Chinese? I am thinking of cancelling my subscription to Cable as I feel it's not worth it anymore.
Cable owes English-speaking subscribers an explanation and action: change back to English commentary on ESPN.
