HONGKONG will send a 21-strong squad to Singapore next week for two warm-up matches in preparation for the territory's World Cup campaign. The national squad has been whittled down to 21 players from an original list of 28 although inclusions and changes could be made before departure for Asian Group D matches in Beirut, Lebanon from May 7-15. South China's midfield star Leslie Santos will miss the trip to Singapore where the territory play Kuwait twice, on April 23 and 25. Santos is nursing a knee injury suffered during South China's 7-0 victory over British Forces last week. South China's other midfielder, Chu Yue-tai, has been left out, along with Instant-Dict's Chan Chi-kwong, defenders Ng Chun-chung of Kui Tan, Wu Yiu-kwok of Ernest Borel, Kitchee's Yau Kin-wai and Kui Tan goalkeeper Yam Wai-hung. Hongkong have been drawn against Lebanon, India, Bahrain and South Korea in their qualifying matches.
