Acquittal on fake guns charge
A MAN has been acquitted of conspiracy to rob and possession of two imitation firearms after a High Court judge ruled he had no case to answer.
Mr Wong Hak-shing, 24, who had been on trial before Deputy Judge Yam and a jury for a week, walked free from the dock following submissions by his counsel, Mr Eric Kwok.
Mr Wong was alleged to have committed the offence on March 12 last year near the vehicular ferry pier, Yau Ma Tei.
He was also charged with possession of an imitation Colt pistol and a Smith & Wesson revolver.
The court heard that police saw a dark green car slowly circling the area. Guns and pellets were found inside the car.
It was claimed Mr Wong tried to run away but was arrested.
