Boom Australian sprinter Bezeal Bay showed he was spot on for his tilt at tomorrow's International Bowl with a brilliant piece of work on the Sha Tin turf yesterday morning.

Trainer Paul Perry sent the son of Zabeel out to work on the outside of the course proper and, after striding leisurely to the home turn, he gradually picked up pace to put the last quarter behind him in 24.5 seconds.

The time may not have been slick, but there was no doubting the quality of the work and the four-year-old looks ready to live up to the big wraps put on him by astute judges in his homeland.

Bezeal Bay also impressed in his work last Tuesday on the grass and it is apparent he has settled comfortably into his new surroundings - he should go close to continuing Australia's recent dominance of the sprint feature.

And if Bezeal Bay is to be found lacking then it is another Australian entry in Toledo who could prove the main stumbling block.

Opinions are divided in Australia as to which is the better galloper and tomorrow's race should go some way to settling the issue.
