SEAWEED has been hauled in to help contemporary Japanese restaurant, Tokio Joe, celebrate its third birthday. Among other additions, the new menu features a selection of nori soba (seaweed noodles), including zaru nori soba (chilled nori soba, $65), and a choice of beef ($90), vegetable ($70) or tempura ($85). Two special set menus have also been prepared. The first, at $250 a head for a minimum of two, has six dishes, including assorted sashimi, beef nori soba, and battered and deep-fried mixed shrimps and vegetables. Menu B, at $280 per person for a minimum of four, has eight dishes, including beef rolls with asparagus, enoki mushrooms and leeks, a salad of fish cake, crab roe, shrimps, avocado and cucumber, deep-fried mushrooms stuffed with seafood, and barbecued calamari.
