Hilton on rampage in Rangers' rout

BRAZILIAN striker Jeronimo Hilton struck four goals as Rangers went on a goal spree, thrashing 10-man Golden 6-1 in the Ericsson First Division soccer league which resumed last night.

The 24-year-old forward found the net in the 39th, 51st, 59th and 85th minutes at Siu Sai Wan Stadium to assure Rangers recorded their second win of the campaign.

Golden were reduced to 10 men for most of the game after defender Pau Ka-yiu was sent off for kicking Hilton in the 17th minute. Sin Ka-yue and Chan Ho-man scored the other goals for Rangers in the 42nd and 88th minutes.

Golden had opened the scoring in the 28th minute through a Wu Qunli penalty which was awarded after striker Alen Bajkusa was fouled.

Meanwhile, Yee Hope scored their first win of the season with a battling 2-1 victory over Sing Tao in the night's earlier game.

Yee Hope finally broke through to grab the points thanks to goals from Wong Chi-keung and Scottish import Paul Ritchie.
