It is not Bill Clinton who is on trial. It is the impeachment process itself and the partisan conduct of the Republican senators. Indeed American judicial and administrative processes are called into question.
The US has an admirable judicial system which ironically gives far more protection to the thug holding up a store with a 'Saturday night special' than to the President himself.
The US, like it or not, is a world leader and indeed has been described as the world's policeman. Given the fact that the impeachment process is overwhelmingly dominated by party politics, one must ask: are these people fit to run the country, should there be a change of government? On present showing I doubt if I would buy a second-hand car from any of them.
