City University (CityU) researchers will use automation science to integrate human intelligence in robots to help the manufacturing and service industries.
Professor Tso Siu-kit, director of CityU's Centre for Intelligence, said the development of automation in manufacturing and service industries would help solve many practical problems.
The professor was speaking at a conference on applications of automation science and technology.
'Many hardware systems for manufacturing need the support of human intelligence to carry out higher order production,' he said.
'These machines are equipped with signal and sound recognition systems and have been widely developed in overseas enterprises.
'The case in Hong Kong is different. We are still at the beginning.
