A bumper day of donations helped the appeal surge through the $1.75 million mark yesterday, with personal cheques totalling $26,060. Special thanks to Beatrix Chau, six, Carolyn Yim, nine, and 10-year-old Anthony Yim who organised a charity garage sale and raised $2,000. Thanks also for generous donations from Martin Cubbon, Manoj Mohanni, Mr and Mrs B. R. Daver, Mr and Mrs J. B. B. Cooke and Alexander Robertson. Their contributions plus cheques from events by the Police Tactical Unit and Ernst & Young made last night's total $1,782,208, confirmed by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
