A 90-year-old woman was murdered during a robbery at her Ngau Tau Kok flat yesterday. Lee Cheung-hing had been dead for several hours before a relative found her shortly after 6pm, police said. She had suffered head injuries. The sixth-floor flat in Block 2 of Ngau Tau Kok Lower Estate was ransacked and Lee's purse was missing. It was not known what had been stolen. Lee lived in the flat with her 50-year-old nephew, believed to be an antique-shop salesman, his 39-year-old wife and their 12-year-old son. Detective Senior Superintendent Lau Sik-tim said the nephew's wife returned to the flat with her son and discovered the iron grille open and the door ajar. The key was in the lock. Lee was face-down on the floor. She was taken to United Christian Hospital, where she was certified dead. An autopsy will be carried out today.
