The parent-teacher association (PTA) of a secondary school has been praised for playing a vital role in boosting co-operation between parents and the school and promoting the welfare of students.
In his address at the speech day of Jockey Club Government Secondary School, principal Leung Woon-man said the PTA had made many outstanding contributions over the past year. 'The PTA not only offered scholarships but also sponsored reading schemes, educational camps and the purchase of equipment for students.
'We're looking forward to closer co-operation between the school and parents in educating the younger generation,' Mr Leung said.
He said students were receiving a balanced education and he was happy with their results in public examinations.
Au Pui-ling was the outstanding performer in this year's A-levels. She scored two distinctions and two credits. Lee Ka-fai obtained five A s and two C s at the HKCEE.
Guest-of-honour Chow Sai- hung, project architect at Paliburg Development Consultants, encouraged students to set a goal and equip themselves with knowledge.
