Proview pins hope on the big picture

Computer monitor manufacturer Proview International Holdings has said it hopes to increase output of high-margin large-screen monitors.

Chairman and managing director Rowell Yang Long-san said that larger 19-inch and liquid-crystal display monitors gave profit margins that were about 4 percentage points higher than regular-sized computer monitors.

Mr Yang said the company estimates that sales of 17-inch and larger monitors will increase to 60 per cent of turnover this year, up from only 30 per cent last year.
